The Ateliers
TIDE frames are produced by a dedicated eyewear manufacturer that specializes in handmade cellulose acetate — not a general plastics factory that happens to make sunglasses.
Acetate sheet is cut and shaped, each temple is cored to seat a metal barrel hinge over an internal metal core, and the frame is polished before polarized TAC lenses go in. We review samples of every style and colorway before a run is approved.
More on the process, with photos, is on the way.
